The name Vlaams roodbruin bier / Flanders Red Ale and the associated PGI label stand for a recognized origin and production method. Only beers that meet the established conditions may carry the protected designation and the European PGI symbol. The product specification also stipulates that the PGI symbol is shown on the label together with the registered name.
