Breweries

Brouwerij Rodenbach

Brouwerij Rodenbach is an iconic brewery from Roeselare, with roots that go back to the 18th century. For generations, Rodenbach has been known for its Flanders Red Ale, which develop their unique character through aging in large oak foeders. Rodenbach is created through a careful blend of young beer and beer that has matured on wood for years. That combination of freshness, depth, and tartness forms Rodenbach’s distinctive flavor. Craftsmanship, time, and tradition are central, while the brewery continues to innovate.

Brouwerij Verhaeghe

Brouwerij Verhaeghe is an independent family brewery that has been passed down from generation to generation since 1885. Flanders Red Ale, including Duchesse de Bourgogne, is the beer style that Brouwerij Verhaeghe has been brewing since the very beginning. Five generations later, this still forms the common thread in their history. Their Flanders Red Ale matures entirely in oak foeders for up to 18 months. This long maturation in wood gives the beers their characteristic refreshing acidity, fruity notes and pronounced complexity.

The Brew Society

The Brew Society is a young, innovative brewery, where the beers are all about experience, conviviality and connection. It is a modern brewery that still brews in the authentic way. To preserve the regional tradition, we still brew the traditional Flanders Red Ale. We have been brewing, aging and blending Flanders Red Ale within the brewery walls for over 6 years now, out of love for this specific production process. Our Flanders Red Ale is especially characterized by a very beautiful balance between sweet and sour.

Brouwerij De Brabandere

The family brewery De Brabandere in Bavikhove dates back to August 1894, when farmer Adolphe De Brabandere submitted an application to build a brewery. Until the early 1970s, the company brewed a traditional Flanders Red Ale that matured in wooden barrels; today, Petrus Aged Pale matures for two years in oak foeders. That foeder-aged beer forms the basis of RED by Petrus, alongside Petrus Roodbruin.

Brouwerij Strubbe

Brouwerij Strubbe was founded in 1831 in Ichtegem by farmer-brewer Ludovicus Strubbe under the name De Maecht van Ghent. In 1854, Louis Strubbe took over the business at Markt 1 and the brewery received its current name; it has now remained in the family for six generations. The range includes Ichtegem's Oud Bruin, a reddish-brown beer matured in oak barrels, alongside Ichtegem's Grand Cru.

Kasteel Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck

Kasteel Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck is an independent family brewery from Izegem that has been charting its own course since 1811. In addition to iconic beer brands such as Kasteel, Filou, St-Louis and Brigand, the brewery also brews Bacchus, a benchmark in the world of Flanders Red Ale. Bacchus matures for at least 18 months in oak barrels, which gives it its distinctive, slightly sour, fruity and refreshing character. The wine-like notes of the beer inspired the name Bacchus, a reference to the Roman god of wine and festivities.

Brouwerij Omer Vander Ghinste

The family brewery in Bellegem was founded in 1892, when Remi Vander Ghinste bought a house with brewery buildings for his son Omer. Brewery Omer Vander Ghinste is a family brewery that brews quality beers according to authentic recipes, in a traditional way but using the most modern techniques.

Brouwerij 't Verzet

Brouwerij 't Verzet is a young brewery that sets itself apart from the mainstream. We look for surprising approaches without losing sight of quality and balance. We started brewing Flemish red-brown beer in 2012 because it is the most beautiful beer style in the world. The style is losing popularity, and as young brewers we feel it is our duty to introduce this classic style to a young audience.
